As a Bolivian scientist I am committed to promote science in Bolivia, to open spaces for other Bolivian scientists and to promote exchange and collaborations between researchers in Bolivia and across the world.

As such, I am an Associate Researcher at the Instituto de Ecología – Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. I am also still involved with the Department of Biology, serving as a guest speaker in undergraduate and graduate classes in Ecology.

I am also a member of an incredible initiative, where I serve as a mentor: Ciencia Molotov. Ciencia Molotov is a collective that focuses on scientific research and communication. Its mission is to promote a culture of accessible and participative science in Bolivia, using creative and artistic tools and colloquial language that helps communicate and democratize scientific knowledge, fostering critical thinking and curiosity within our society.

In 2024, our lab has established a formal collaboration with Conservacion Amazonica (ACEAA), the Bolivian partner of Amazon Conservation; our collaborative will conduct research in the ecology and conservation of Amazonian ecosystems in Bolivia, with special focus on the Tahuamanu Research Station, in Pando.
